To Nanna Jorn
[4] May 1973

DEAR NANNA -- FOR SOME TIME WE HAVE NOT WANTED TO BELIEVE THE RUMORS ABOUT THE DEATH OF ASGER BUT ONE CAN NO LONGER[1] -- WE ARE SO DISTRESSED THAT WE CAN SAY NOTHING ELSE -- WE HOPE TO SEE YOU IN PARIS -- WE EMBRACE YOU.

Alice and Guy Debord

[1] It was through the 3 May 1973 edition of Le Monde that Guy Debord had to learn of the death of Asger Jorn. His last letter, addressed on 19 March [1973] to Alice and Guy Debord in Italy, which announced to them that he had been diagnosed with cancer, didn't arrive until July of that year.
