On Saturday, 5 June 1999, the SCP returned to Washington Square Park in the company of four photographers from Details magazine, which is doing a long story on the SCP for its August 1999 issue. Instead of performing one of their plays, the Players posed with a huge BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU sign left over from 1984, handed out copies of an informational flyer that BNB and Spike produced together, and talked to people. The whole thing was completely left alone by both the Parks Police and the NYPD. Despite this, the appearance was a tremendous success: more people than ever before were drawn to what the Players were doing; approximately 300 of the informational flyers got handed out; a lot of fun was had. In the future, the Players plan to appear more often in this "informal" manner.
