One can't say that the Passage -- or Critique -- do not shock (except 3 or 4 very short political gags) -- except to the extent that one would like to be shocked by the bizarreness of the cinematographical form and the vague "subject" as well. . .

On the other hand, The Society of the Spectacle must shock very often -- and even shock in the heart of Leftist critical acceptance.
