from Guy Debord

To Jean-Francois Martos
29 February 1988
Dear Jeff

Perhaps it is Fargette[1] who now directs the strategy of the EdN?[2] I am astonished by a return to the militant spirit as clear as the declaration of the Committee I.D.T.L.P.U.V.[3]: all this leads back quite before '68. And by comparing you to Erhenbourg[4] one establishes that [Christian] Sebastiani is Breton, and that one hasn't responded to the stupid calumnies of a Russian bureaucrat ("pederastic activity"). And that the EdN proves this easily by not responding.

In this issue,[5] one cites I[nternationale] S[ituationniste] more than in the eleven preceding issues; this will surely not suffice to save their prestige.

Would you like to come to our place (with Sylvain) Friday at 8 pm? My work[6] proceeds well, but is still not finished, alas!

Cordially yours,
Guy

P.S. It is never necessary to answer the telephone at 4 o'clock in the morning; this gives a number of people the satisfaction of waking you up, at least!
